Need a bit of calm?

Hi folks, I was listening to a recent podcast by Brenee Brown and she (and her research) seemed to confirm something I’ve been experiencing… it is my adrenaline running out.

You know the adrenaline that kicks in when there’s a crisis? Yeah…the stuff that’s been fueling us for a couple weeks now…the stuff that makes me ready to fight or flight….yeah that stuff. There’s a crisis moment…the adrenaline kicks in…but eventually it runs out.

I love this Brenee Brown Podcast!

And that moment hit me this week. But Brenee Brown offers some helpful advice on this new normal period of time and adapting strategies for this new normal we are experiencing. Check this podcast out, friends. I think it will help you.

Johnny Costa and His Magic Fingers

Another calm?

I needed a bit of Mr. Rogers’ calm in my day.

Maybe you do too? So check out this musical selection from Johnny Costa, the music man behind Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. I just listened to it. I may listen to it, again!

More calm?

Three things you can do for your body and mind and spirit today include:

  • eating well (avoid the sugar rush!)
  • sleeping enough (I need more sleep now than I did 3 weeks ago…it’s my body asking me for help)
  • Moving (we store our anxiety, our worry, our grief in our bodies. Moving is good for the body, the mind, and the spirit)

At home calming practice

I’ve been doing at home yoga for about 5 years, and have been visiting Yoga With Adriene. And it might be timely for us all to do a little yoga…here’s one for calm

And one more…

Sometime today hug something. Maybe hug a family member. Maybe hug/pet an animal. Or maybe hug yourself? Get some of those free hugs…we need them.

And one more…

Maybe make yourself a really nice cup of non-caffeine tea.
You deserve it.
